Everything from not investing early enough, to lacking knowledge before diving in to things without research, and everything in between, trust me when I say I’ve made just about any financial error it’s possible to make. But thankfully, with failure (and the lessons it teaches you), we’re all able to grow and be better in the realm of money.

Hopefully, you can learn from the worst money mistakes I’ve made, so you don’t have to make them for yourself. And please let me know below if there are any of your own stories you’d like to share!

I hope you enjoy this one.

i didnt know how to manage my money and my life. at one point i had to declutter my crap, cos i had no were to store it. since than its a process , ups and downs. but overall been more minimalist and organize and even eco friendly about all parts of spending and life help me not only saving money even on a low income, but clears out space to explore and grow and change and that leads to more money and savings. saving is also about been creative . i literally know that i can get most things for free or a good price. i buy great quality stuff second hand when i need to. i try not to spend money and energy on shopping as a hobby. i find things, and diy little things(i dnt have resources and energy to build stuff) invest in new quality or important things mostly and this things are only ones worth my money. i invest money or and energy in food and health, experiences and education. this is very important. u learn tricks with time. and also u change. and even now having not much energy to work allot i get by.

Lesson one hit me hard. Late bloomer to investing. I wish someone who have sat me down and showed me the why I needed to be investing rather than just saying that I needed to be in the market. Got in the market late 2019 and crypt 2020
Really enjoying your wisdom and teaching! Thank you and may more of your dreams come true in 2022!

Upgrading a car every year was my biggest mistake. Debt piled up, but I set a goal to pay it off in 2022.

Sorelle, the last thing you spoke about was about buying your one way plane ticket and leaving everything behind. I am exactly on that same side of the coin sister! I gave up my apartment in Chicago, sold my car, packed up most of my stuff into boxes and left them at my parents'. I quit my freelancing job in Chicago bc it wasn't location independent and because I could feel how it didn't make me happy and didn't make use of my passions. I gave myself a trial run to live nomadically in the US for a couple months to see how I like it before leaving to live abroad long term. I LOVED it! I wouldn't have met all these amazing people who now feel like lifelong friends if I wouldn't have made that decision. I bought a camera and now I am pursuing a great big passion, photography and writing. My plan is to freelance my way through this work, live and travel throughout south america where the costs of living are cheaper while I earn in USD. And invest and save a certain percentage of my earnings. Tysm for sharing your story and I hope to inspire and impact other people with my story and my work as well!

One of my biggest business mistakes was trying to partner with a big fish who owned a $40 million business and was going to take us under his wing while we opened our business. He ended up trying to take advantage of us by offering us almost no money for our work so we high tailed out of there are started the business ourselves and now we have so much business we can barley keep up. 🤟

Lisa LaCroix 31/12/2021 - 4:15 Chiều

Oh yes! Lots of failures. Starting and stopping, inconsistency, trying out business ideas that weren’t right for me or were unfounded like your brushes, undercharging for services and not leveraging the equity in my house until I got divorced.

Dear sorellie,
I usually comment on your vídeos something rather vague along the lines of “love this, great content” etc… and I do mean that. But this time I want to be a bit more intentional.

Thank you for this video. I keep making financial mistakes but I also realize how up until two years ago I had 5 euros for my everyday expenses and now I am looking at almost 5 figures in savings. Something clicked and I got into this journey full steam.

Almost at the same time you started uploading financial content and ever since I got so much more serious on my journey.

By sharing your journey you make it seem perfectly manageable to become a millionaire in less than a decade, with the right strategies and hard work. You don’t just sell a dream, you actually show how difficult but possible achieving all this is.

I appreciate you.

Love from Barcelona

Being able to earn money is one thing, but spending is a completely different story 😆 Time to get the stick out of butt.
2022 is year of pleasure!
Powodzenia 😚

Not being interested ( like truly interested ) in making money until this year. I was focused on just getting a paycheck and relationships. Routine, drama and stereotypes can really affect how you see the world.

This is a great video and thank you for sharing the rest of the story. If I could go back in time and talk to my earlier self, I would have two strong recommendations after graduating from college:

1) Every month, put money into a good index fund like the SP500. Do this when the market is going up and down. Forget about developing a future investment plan and invest today! Life carries you along, so you need a simple way to grow your money as you pursue your career, make friends, travel, etc. When you are young, you take time for granted, but it's your greatest asset!

2) Do not become a do-it-yourselfer. You may save money buying things that need fixing and it appears to be a way up, but projects devour your time and always take much longer to finish than you expect. I only had good returns on my time when making temporary repairs. I had dreams of building my own house and an airplane – I'm so happy I never went there. Projects can distract you from more important things like building relationships, investing your money wisely, exercise, leisure to recharge, or investing in yourself through learning. Money saving projects serve you rather than others, so it can never by a wealth building strategy.

Just want to tell you – THANK YOU!!! Not only for sharing your experience but also encouraging and in a way supporting everyone who is watch! I have been following you for 5 years now and it is great to see your growth and how happy you are =)

Mare Ninina 31/12/2021 - 4:15 Chiều

This is one of the best honest videos I have watched so far. Money is not just numbers, it is feeling for other people, not getting emotionally attached, managing your time, putting effort at crazy hours, relationships and other things. Thank you Sorelle.

Yup. I remember when bitcoin was $3/coin. I didn't trust it. Lol!

I wished I would've invested in my early 20's when I knew about all his but didn't take the time to look into it because i didn't think I could make it happen. Only older people could. Lol!
