Logistics of the Future | Engineering Documentary
Ticket To The Future: The Evolution of Travel:
Modern logistics! It would be hard to imagine our daily digital lives without them. As consumers, we can shop online every day and any hour of the day. We expect everything to arrive on time – whether clothing, printer spare parts or a set of screws. Online shopping is booming: in 2018, courier, express and parcel services, the so-called CEP sector, delivered around 3.5 billion shipments in Germany alone. And this is an upward trend. But how does all this work so smoothly, safely and on time?
After all, we live in turbulent times: digitalization, climate crisis, growing world population and political and economic instability. How does the logistics industry rise to such challenges? For answers to these questions we need to dive deep into the world of modern logistics. Our film takes us into huge, fully connected warehouses, watching as fleets of cargo planes are prepared for take-off at night and accompanying couriers on delivery bikes on “the last mile” to the customer. We look at one of the world’s largest logistics providers at work: Deutsche Post DHL Group. We are more looking into solutions of robotization, working together with human workers within the warehouse on one hand. But also artificial intelligence and big data crunching is getting more and more important.

But which technology will save us from this horribly corrupt system?
man, delivering by bike…no one deserves that.
I need to learn English but I can't pay. I will soon be studying (logístic) in Switzerland with my wife and I need to improve my English but I have no one to practice with. I'm from the Brazilian, 28 years old. if you have time and interest in helping me, thank you very much. I want to practice with a native English speaker by Skype or by email.
The Germans are all skinny! How'd they manage that? .FIT people are more efficient.(Is that accurate)
DO NOT CHOOSE DHL FOR SHIPPING BECAUSE THEY HAS HIDDEN FEE they adding when you have to pay ur duty fee and u don't even know about that. I bought two watch each cost $169 US first was delivered by FedEx and I payed $38.91 duty fee and a second was delivered by DHL and they send me $59.17 I called them and they said we charge extra $17 for administration's fee . For what ? DHL ripped off me. I don't recommend DHL they're theft…

Some call logistics 🤔 some call it Republicans know how to move things and Democrats don't🤣
wow, may i share to my students sir. Thanks a lot
Great upload. Interesting to watch. Big like. Thanks for sharing 👍
Good doc. with good aspects, but more an image movie. It was a good overview over modern logistics, but the FUTURE came up short
Good
Thank you DHL for sharing.
Its interesting if you work in logistics and retail like i do
imagine, if you had a system running under the classic land infrastructure that would pick & push parcels to desired locations via a magnetically enticed forces. so ongoing road traffic would pick and drag parcels as a byproduct when going about their business until it would reach the desired destination.
This is not a 2021 documentary
Ohoo my god.
A well-nuanced picture of modern logistics, without any obvious connections to any specific logistic company, as far as i noticed.
I feel this video should've been titled: A look into DHL's operations.
12:59 fking DHL?
笑死了, 这种记录片是怎么好意思播出来的. 1000,000/day? 400million/year? 还物流的未来? 但凡去中国开开眼, 都不至于被当成猪糊弄成这样. 还JB插播一条绿色能源. 0碳排放? 先不算算西方工业化和两次世界大战放了多少碳??
Is this Epic Economist guy without the apocalypse music?
there are much more advanced systems out there, look up Ocado's grocery warehouses
Man, bicycle couriers are a different breed. I was a downtown courier for 3 years in a large Canadian city and I would see those guys out, even in the winter.
Machines now do jobs so people don't have to? Don't you mean you created robots to take away jobs from humans and increase the profits of the company?
DHL Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks
DHL advert..🤔
Hanzhen harmonic drive gear , factory automation, industrial robot arm gear reducer
Amazing Daniel, thanks for sharing these awesome insights about DHL and Logistics.
Can't wait to see more in this space, the economics behind it, and the future trends and visions.
Also, if you could recommend any great books.
Is it Kevin Durant in 02:55 ?
Baby Amazon.
As an Uber/Lyft driver (pre-pandemic) in the Cincinnati, OH USA area, I was frequently driving DHL, Amazon and their subcontractors to various hotels and other places around town. Even though I only spent a few minutes with flight crews, it was always very interesting to hear the schedules and adventures of these workers. The Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) is the home of Amazon Air and the only other hub that DHL operates. Thank you for this video and letting has a peek at the rest of the DHL empire.
Proud DHL Employee of 15 years. 💪🏽
