Knowledge and technology: from CERN to society technology knowledge

by alsaCEMusic

Explore how fundamental research is a driving force for innovation.

As well as the World Wide Web, the most famous CERN technological innovation, CERN’s particle accelerators and detectors have many applications in everyday life. Electronic particle-detection techniques, for example, have revolutionized medical diagnosis.

CERN collaborates with industry, giving it an expertise that can be applied to other areas. The technological innovations of the Laboratory thus spread rapidly to society, for the benefit of all.

This film was made as part of CERN’s 60th anniversary celebrations. In 2014, CERN is celebrating 60 years of science for peace #CERN60, read more:

This is all unnecessary. They just wanna manipulate space and time. This has nothing with medical practices. Nothing to do with real science. Dumping loads and loads of money into this for no reason. They just tryna bring demons thru a stargate of some kind. Notice that there logo is a bunch of 6's? Ur all prolly gunna suck the teet of cern and say noooo they are amazing blah blah blah. Only if you stood up for Christ as much as u do for a.company that gives zero fucks about the population.

I would love to work at CERN.  Mopping floors, and scrubbing toilets would be fine by me.

That woosh sound is super annoying. I am hesitant to use this video for outreach as it is so distracting that I think my audience will loose focus or not take the video seriously.

Wtf is that annoying sound effect that keeps playing? Sounds like a gust of wind or something. Seems pointless.

People who doubt the incredible scientific value of facilities like CERN, ITER etc. are just plain stupid.
