Great video. Thank you for sharing. Also the production quality is excellent !!!

Rupert's Mixtapes 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Several things went unaddressed in the video.
1. The energy consumption criticism does not apply to PoS (Proof of Stake) coins, which consume practically zero energy. It primarily only applies to BTC. All new L1s (level 1 chains) are PoS and ETH is slated to become PoS in the coming years.
2. The middleman argument with respect to exchanges is moot, DEXs (decentralized exchanges) are plentiful, see Uniswap, Sushiswap, Quickswap, Pangolin…
3. Algorithmic stablecoins specifically address volatility issues, see UST, OHM, or AMPL, all the way from pegged to the dollar to being completely independent.
4. Venezuela getting burnt from adopting BTC as legal tender is well deserved, only people who have no idea what they are doing would do such a thing.

listening to this now, I feel like a lot of anti-capitalists online should support cryptocurrency. I feel like a lot of anticapitalists say that governments and institutions are the ones peddling capitalism and blah blah the system, so wouldn't cryptocurrency be something they support?

Cristian Chelaru 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Much love John, don’t tell . You don’t own any crypto;)

It is going to push web 3.0, but that doesn't mean that your everyday person will discern the difference.

I think the promise behind NFT and crypto are great… unfortunately, we live in a world where people can turn Bananas into a greedy murder machine.

This is such a bubble but the technology is so fascinating. It fills a niche

WOW GREAT WORK!!! how long did you made this?

Darren Loke 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

The crypto optimist in this video is making a much more sound argument than 99% wanna get rich crypto "investors" out there drowning in comments section. That says a lot about where this is heading.

JHOL 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

the sheer inefficiency of the blockchain cannot be understated. the fact is that the more people that use it the more energy it uses exponentially.

Matt Ross 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

A side comment, not really about the video. If it matters to you, better help is a little problematic in the way they sell your data? personally i think it’s a little slimy to sell the data of people who are trying to heal 💀💀

Bitcoin brings wealth, Dollar brings debt.

Marco Hernandez 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

I'm already living in the corrupt brand-pushing brain-washing anti-net-neutrality capitalistic hell-hole that is the Colombian financial system, and when you live in the bottom of the mariana trench, there in no way to go but up. Bitcoin to the mooon!!!! … or at least to the shoreeeee!

Ben Wells 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Hmm. All I know is my $20 of Dogecoin is currently worth $5.70 and I’m no closer to the moon :-/ slightly more amusing way to gamble money than physically setting fire to it I guess…

1mban3zz 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

love the debate. although I still don't fully understand block chains core and also undecided about crypto. for now, I'm still just a viewer like most of us. we'll watch this unfold in the coming years.

Luis 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

If you want "decentralized money" that would stick it to the largest banks, just switch to a credit union.

VisualJ 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

LilDirtDick 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

this perfectly and capitalized how I feel about this. I totally understand being skeptical but why are the skeptics always somehow acting like the other persons an idiot or lying?

Can’t you disagree and not be a dick? I mean I guess I could say the same thing about the news or any other type of media.

Charlie Wootton 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Edwin Rodriguez 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Pretty sure crypto currency will be easily hacked 🤡

David Peacock 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Who are the people behind the scenes, like the developers with unknown motives. I'm suspicious of "forks" where people can change the fundamentals of crypto.
I heard that mined Bitcoins are halved. Who makes these type of "halving" decisions? People have power and make rules and who are these people?

nixymagoo 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

I can see why you need a therapist. The best therapy i found was to use two hands to pull my head out of my ass. You need to let go

AKEWSD 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Avoid crypto, your banks will adopt blockchain. Public figures promote to pump their current position. It was SEC fault for allowing bitcoin. SEC suppose to be the market gatekeeper, protecting from fraud.

sovrngarde 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

i think the end solution in future is the middle between fiat currency which control by national goverment and crypto coin. fiat with more transparency . johnny could u review what china did with digital yuan is this it?

Ricardo Pereira 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

This was a elaborated discussion, nice idea to eat some popcorn! 😀

Davi Soares Alves 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

I think Bitcoin is just a bubble.

BRKM97 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

All in all he just cant decide and keep on twisting things between bad and good things, making people confuse and messy. "i dont need history learning" yet he kept on saying " we need to look back at first year of bitcoin". That is what american and europen writer good at. They used this concept to colonize weak country now and then. My conclusion is there is always a clear line between delusional and therotical. but yeah good content.

cole4prezy 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Does this man not know what a DEX is?

LeEcHeR 1 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

I’ve been into crypto since 2012 and I’m still standing 100% behind it. We’ve come so far since then and I can’t wait to see where we’ll stand in 10 years from now. People seem to think that it’s to late to start but truth is this is still very early. The internet analogy you talked about is actually a pretty good example imo. Back in the 90’s we couldn’t even imagine how we could improve on the internet we had, look at where we are now. This isn’t a utopia or a bubble, this is a real future which will have it fair share of ups and downs like everything else that’s innovating, which will have tons of scams because where there’s money to be made there’re going to be scammers waiting and which will need it’s time to mature and give people the time to adapt to it. We’ve went from gold bars to dollar bills, from bills to some numbers on your phone’s banking app, why couldn’t it go even further? There’s an exciting future ahead of us and I’m proud to be a part of it!

Kevin Guo 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Johnny is starting to piss me off with how much he seems to be absolutely right about everything

Justin Fowler 20/12/2021 - 4:17 Chiều

Very good video. Love your style of covering stuff. You truly seem to think logically and not ideologically.
