In 2008, melamine-tainted milk produced in China brought to light the nation’s fake food industry. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as of 2016, 86% of the world’s counterfeit goods, including food, is produced in China.
Today, blockchain technology is migrating from the fintech industry and into supermarkets. Alibaba’s biggest e-commerce rival, JD.com, set up their flagship supermarket, 7Fresh, in Beijing, where customers can track product origins.
But sensors like QR codes, RFID technology and NFC chips are powerless against food contamination. For that, anti-counterfeit labels have been developed.

That sounds like they are from the other world.
I've been going to mainland china and eating their fake food for years. So you're telling me I'm going to die? Fuck
Is time to Christianised this whole nation
Don't bother to fight the fake food , because the blockchain they use is FAKE.
And all their pigs will soon ALL be contaminated , so there will be nothing left to fight for . Because everything is fake.
As long you don't make it yourself. It can be tempered, especially shit made from China.
… you have to go the distance just to verify the food's quality or authenticity… ??
More plastic pollution, very good idea….Not!!

U can still fake it…
Well, how about cloning? I've experienced buying 2 identical products from the same source but after scanning its qr codes the first one was confirmed and validated while the other one says the code was already scanned and validated before.
Wat if the app is fake tho .-.
Well it's chinese, what do you expect ?
Aaahh, human life becomes ever more robotic and inhumane.
how do u know the information on the app is trustable tho
Block chain is really a wonderful technology. I'd like to see it developed even more and made more secure and convenient. In the US, it helped us track the origin of specific contaminated food, and made it easier to remove it from the shelves.
Still has so many loopholes.
Sigh…curse those scammers out there that cause this, even now we can't eat peacefully. The next thing is we can't even die peacefully.
Pseudo blockchain is on its way, human will never change
You can create your own QR code , none the less to say put any details into the QR code.
All the information given when the QR code is scanned could easily all just be lies. Chinese will lie about anything, why not this? Does anyone actually feel safer from this???
