Can Russia and China Detect the F-35 Stealth Aircraft? f 35 stealth technology

by alsaCEMusic

Stealth is suppose to be ‘invisible’ to the enemy. And nations spend billions to keep it that way. Is it worth it?

Stealth technology via RAM coating is easily defeated. Just use a radar system that uses lower frequencies than the RAM coating is built for. A VHF or UHF radar system will not be defeated by RAM coatings. The Russians are invested in lower frequency radar systems.

Radar stealth is a dead end technology. Not just because low frequency radar systems make it a joke, but also because thermal detection systems are getting better all the time and it's very, VERY hard to conceal the millions of joules of heat that jet aircraft engines pump into the atmosphere. Thermal will detect aircraft even if radar doesn't.

I just don't like how no one ever mentions radar angles and that generally most stealth aircraft works best when radar sensors only comes from the front ie. you need to fly in straight line to maximise radar scatter/deflect effect.

Take some time to watch this video to really understand -> https://youtu.be/aJ7CuhNJxu8

It makes you wonder when multiple radars from different angles come into play. I guess that's why recognisance and intelligence on exactly where all of the enemy radars (even ones they try to hide) are situated.

The F-117 that was shot down was following the same route time and time again and thats the reason why the Yugoslavs were able the caculate its approximate location.

until this stealth jet did not fly over Moscow, I did not believe in Stealth technology, enough said

All F-22 aircraft fly with radar reflectors on the aircraft so that civil air traffic controllers can see them at over 200 miles away. The only time they retract the reflectors and go into stealth mode is when they are flying in a war scenario over restricted areas in the United States, or in real combat.

No… but when their missile defense system blows up, they will know an F-35 was there.

Update: YL21 Quantum long wave radar of china can detect F22, F35, B2 and also B21( prolly)
PLA has had it since 2014, and is deployed in 2016 all across China

At Red Flag Swedish, French, German and Japanese aircraft have been able to detect the F-35 with little trouble. Pretty sure the Russians and Chinese can do it.
At the recent Trident 21 exercise, the first of the Trident series held outside of the US without USAF & USN ROE restrictions, the Intruder Mk2 (the nickname USN pilots have been disciplined for calling the F-35) was basically defenseless against Italian and German Typhoons unless being escorted by French Rafale. In 2019 at Red Flag Gripens detected and destroyed 2 complete F-35 strike packages without being detected by the F-35s. In 2014 Red Flag French Rafale and Mirage 2000-mk5 used their more advanced data links to form a flying phased array radar with their old PESA systems and ate F-22s lunch.
Its more about tactics & training than equipment.

In hind sight neither Russia or China can detect the stealth F-35 let alone the F-22 and of course the Upcoming new Gen Drone fighters the USA is Currently Developing

The f-117 was always trackable. The more energy you put out the smaller it got. Attack radars it disappears.

I assume that the US has drones and decoys to overwhelm and confuse enemies
A Remote controlled aircraft that can change its RCS could confuse enemies and get Shut down

Yeah the F-35 is stealthy, but have you EVER seen an RS-8 fly?

Exactly, it's so stealthy you can't even see it.

no, they cannot. if they can, they won't brag about being able to do it.

Of course they can. The F-35 is designed to be difficult to detect with X-band radar but can be seen with all sorts of other types.
